Porter carries of the Billennium Bowl at Mannings Heath
Adam Piggott made the most of his local knowledge to land the Billennium Bowl on his home course at Mannings Heath.
Making his inaugural appearance as a member, Adam held off the challenge of last year’s Div 1 winner at Royal Winchester, Andy Porter, with 32 points, just two ahead. Steve Lewis came third in Div 1 on countback with 28.
Div 2 was low scoring: Ian Woods came out on top with 28 points, ahead of Paolo Minoli on 27 and Jeff Randall on 25.
From 2000, the winner of Captain’s Day has been awarded the Billennium Bowl, presented to the PGS by former captain and News of the World Sports Editor Bill Bateson. The winner is in bold in the table below.
