The weight of captaincy did not weigh heavy on Jamie Weir’s stocky shoulders as he scored 37 points at the PGS’ inaugural visit to Burnham Beeches Golf Club to land the News of the World Trophy.
On a day of light ‘April showers’ Pete Clifton topped Div 1 with 36 points, clear of Paul Kelso in 2nd and Andy Glen in 3rd, both with 34 points.
In Division 2, behind Jamie, were Colin Hancock in 2nd and Neil Darbyshire in 3rd, both with 34 points.
