Success! Notice how confident everyone was? (Clue, the tent is empty!)

Captain Colin Hancock did the society proud with generosity of spirit and wallet on another glorious Captain’s Day (Colin’s second in short order).

But Double Felix Duckworth again took the Captain’s Day’s honours, repeating his achievement from last year with 33 points. Rob Hewer was second in Div 1 with 32 and Nev Appleton 30. John Quinn headed the Div 2 field with 32 points, followed by Jeff Randall with 30, who beat Hugh Whittow on count back. The ‘long drive’ was won by Andy Glen and Steve Killick was ‘nearest the pin.’

The results meant the selection for this year’s Wryter’s Cup, to be held in October in France, could be finalised.

The team is: Nev Appleton, Jonny Bramley, Dylan Dronfield, Nic Brook, Mark Lomas, Dean Scoggins, Evan Samuel, Khalid Javed, John Quinn, Hugh Whittow, Tim Allan, Colin Hancock, Andrew Porter, Rob Hewer, Pip Clothier & Felix Duckworth, reserves are Andy Glen & Christian Fraser
